Vaseline Healing Jelly with Cocoa Butter Mishap

I recently got circumcised and was using triple antibiotic cream on my penis for a period of nearly 2 weeks. So yesterday I decided to switch to Vaseline with Cocoa Butter to promote faster healing and after I applied it around my penis, I noticed my penis felt itchy all day. I made a dumb mistake and applied it again. So I finally stopped applying it and decided to use Triple Antibiotic again, I can still feel the itch and I am worried that I may have a fungal infection or something. Can someone give me advice on how I should deal with this. It's just so itchy around the cut area where the stitches are located. I'm so tempted to massage it all day. But I didn't notice any skin breakout, however there may have been one or two sensitive red spots directly underneath the penis shaft/head.

Don't apply any Vaseline or cream untill your wound is fully healed. My doc straight away denied it and said vaseline or any other cream isn't sterile.

Only apply antibiotic cream as prescribed.

For itching part, put it in luke warm water to remove previous sticky lotion and then apply coconut oil. It will give relief.

Take levocitrizine or other anti allergy pill for 2-3 days.

Thanks, the itching seems to be relieved. I applied Antibiotic Cream Yesterday and some today. How long should I keep using Antibiotic cream for??

Also, what do you think about Bio-Oil? I bought some of that but idk if I should use it now or later or at all.

Your doctor should've informed you what to use. The should've recommended Vaseline as that I'd what I was told. Mine healed nicely. It would have some itchiness ads it means it's healing.

Itchiness can be a part of the healing process, but maybe it’s the cocoa butter combined with the Vaseline that did that?

I used antibiotic cream for a week, then switched to straight Vaseline, it’s sterile and antibacterial. Dr’s say strange things sometimes.

I also soaked the whole wound in water mixed with some Himalayan pink salt for a few minutes everyday, it’s a great way to disinfect and sooth the wound.

Good luck with your healing! You got this.

Clean with salt water or very mild baby soap to get rid of the Vaseline. I had no Antibiotic Cream, just using Bio Oil after about a week. When the itching has gone then stop with the antibiotic cream, bio oil then cocoa butter, couple of weeks of each.
