Question on penile nerve block injection sites recovery after circumcision

I had circumcision about 2 months back. Local anesthetic, penile nerve block injections I believe, were used as well as general anesthesia.

It seems I have some minor pain, discomfort in areas of the shaft, where I believe the injections were done. Dr. had said it takes time to heal, when I last visited 2 weeks post-op. Going to see Dr. again tomorrow for follow up appointment, but wanted to ask about experiences from others.

On this issue, you don't really notice/observe anything on the penis visually/physically, or very unperceptible as the location of discomfort is barely swollen visibly if at all. But you can feel it pressing on it on the shaft, it feels slightly lumpy like tendons but again barely/slightly (in feeling & visually). Can feel it whether flaccid or erect. More noticeable in feeling it and the discomfort when erect, particularly when rubbing around the affected areas. It was worse during the early days of post-op, now just feel it from time to time.

Anyone have/had similar issue as I? I'm wondering how long this discomfort/pain takes to heal before it's entirely gone. Would it have lasting recurrence that comes back now & then? It would not be fun to experience during sexual activity with a partner.

The doctor can reassure you, but the needle from the injection might have caused a hematoma which will take time to calm down. It’s best to get checked.

Thanks for the insight, I haven't really seen any color changes. Hematoma's might always not reveal color from bruising (or internal bleeding)?
