Varicocele and Exercising

Hi there, I was diagnosed with varicocele veins in my left testicle which is where the veins swell up, does anyone know if it’s ok to lift weights and do exercise with varicocele? Thanks!

As you have been diagnosed, did you not ask you diagnosing physician about this?

Yes it is ok. If you get achey down there, use a good athletic supporter. Varicoceles rarely cause significant problems

I had my varicocele removed because of the pain and discomfort. Simple and easy op, felt massively better after it was done.

I dont think there is any problems with lifting weights or exercising. The main problem with varicocele is on the sperm fertility. As the blood flow (back) towards the heart is hampered, causing more blood in the varicocele veins keeps the testis area warmer , which is not good for health of sperms. Depending on your circumstances, you should think of getting it corrected. I never had any pain. The discomfort was only about a bit of sagging ( due to more blood and gravity).I had mine corrected(operated) 16 years ago and haven't had any issues.
