Day 90 after circumcision

Hello, I was circumcised back in early June of this year due to phimosis and what is done is done.

TL;DR: Still experiencing bad discomfort/hypersensitivity 3 months post-op. More details below.

I am still experiencing bad hypersensitivity/discomfort and the skin on my head is pretty dry. It’s very difficult still to take showers as even the water pressure from the shower onto the head jolts me in discomfort. I would describe it as a searing pain mixed with strong hypersensitivity. Putting on clothes still is unsuccessful and I do try to just bear the insane discomfort but to no avail. In addition, my frenulum is still as swollen as it was at the beginning. That wouldn’t be too much of a problem if it wasn’t still tender and uncomfortable (though not as bad as my glans) to touch. I bathe regularly to keep it clean and I only use sensitive skin soap without the irritants in it.

From what I’ve read, the hypersensitive glans is very common, but is it concerning that roughly 3 months post-op I am still experiencing high discomfort with any touch? I have tried my best to just suck it up and let things come into contact but I haven’t really seen noticeable improvements for the past two months. I’ve tried to wear tight fitting underwear to keep my penis in place but it just results in horrible searing discomfort/pain that seems to get worse with more pressure.

Is there another potential issue that could be causing this much glans discomfort with touch this late on in the recovery? I expected it to take weeks or maybe 2 months max before I was able to wear clothes without major discomfort but I’m not sure about 3. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Because of the phymosis your glans is hyper sensitive. It may take from 6 monthe to 2 years or more for it to become tollerable to the touch. Gently massage in some coconut oil or whatever oil to your liking. This may help speed things up a bit. For the most part, you just have to suck it up (figuratively speaking).

This is unusual. My glans was uncomfortablely hypersensitive too. Very snug sport briefs were my go to for becoming accustomed to having your glans exposed. This is the only thing I can suggest. Stick to snug fitting underwear. Yes movement will be uncomfortable, but it should clear up if you consistently wear it.

The problem with very snug fit briefs is that the discomfort seems to get worse with more pressure. Almost as if it’s searing my penis when more pressure is added. Just an absolutely awful sensation.

I can only suggest visiting back your doctor.

Try edging. Edging tend to cure this as it requires us rub our tip as much as we can.
