Day 9 - concerns on step backwards...

I’ve been very happy with the healing progress I’ve been making (and have previous posts on profile showing this) but have had a bit of a turn for worse in last 48 hours or so.

The “ring” below the glans has been getting very swollen on the left side. Furthermore the area has generally become very scabby and unpleasant.

One of the issues I’ve been facing is that my penis contracts (this is a long-standing issue worthy of a different post) so the shaft has been going over the ring and the top of glans. I don’t know if this is normal, or whether my cut was designed to withstand this, but it is deeply uncomfortable and unsettling as I can feel it moving around. I keep often having to retract the shaft to coax it out when I go to the toilet and so forth.

I’m concerned this is creating unhelpful friction and not only prolonging the healing but potentially long-term permanent damage. Further to that, I keep spotting sometimes a very purple line at the base of the glans (which should be somewhat visible in the picture - tricky lighting). I’m concerned this might as a result of it getting contracted into the shaft and potentially an issue over blood flow?

Due to this friction and contracting I found today that something on that left side had kind of burst - almost a bit like where the skin tears on a blister. But I couldn’t tell whether was skin or a bit of glue or what.

Whilst I’ve been struggling to spot some of the stitches it’s clear some have dissolved/come out and the skin expanded. I know this is what is supposed to happen but worried they are being forced out earlier than they should be with the movement/friction.

I went to see a nurse this afternoon. She inspected me but was clearly very much rushing. She gave me some antibiotics and told me to wash the wound with saline - due to the rushing I wasn’t able to articulate many of the thoughts I’ve raised here.

Sometimes people are not necessarily rushing but just know what you need at that time. You are very early on your healing process.
