It’s been 2 days now that I had my frenulum removed via surgery

How long will it take for 3-0 sutures used to dissolve

How long will it take to get normal?

Hiya, I was circumcised and had my frenulum removed a little over 3 weeks ago. My stitches, I think there were 5 had started to come away just after two weeks. But I know everyone is different.

My dr gave me fusidic acid cream to apply to the stitched area 2 times a day for 7 days changing the dressing each time.

All the best.

Thanks Ed84 for your response

Feel relieved to know someone has a similar surgery so I can get some info and advice 😊

I have got 5 stitches too

Did it pain / irritate / poke while stitches were there in skin and after the stitches have gone out does it feel better and no or less pain ?

Hiya. It wasn’t too bad when stitches were in, unless I got an erection then it was really sore. Now the stitches are gone it’s not painful, but the area is still tender to touch with just one small scab left. Hope this helps, I think that with these things time is a healer and we just have to go steady and sit tote till things recover.

Ouch, that looks extremely painful. Why did you remove your frenulum?

In my first surgery (Done by general surgeon) while doing circumcision, frenulum was moved and restiched but it was tight and painful, I went to another urologist who advised removing frenulum may help to stop that pulling/tugging pain

Hence it was done. Yes there is some pain/discomfort due to the stitches but I’m hoping once they dissolve and the area heals it would be better
