I have a problem with my foreskin being tight. It has been like this since birth.
With lubricants or in the shower it can sometimes retract and tends to return fairly easily. It cannot retract whilst erect without extreme discomfort (not pain).
My biggest worry is genital hygiene as often times I can get discharge build up within a couple of days if not properly and thoroughly cleaned daily which can be an issue if it's difficult to retract on that day.
My doctor has only recommended a circumcision but I am not comfortable with this procedure.

Where would I get this steroid cream? I've noticed it mentioned but my doctor hasn't recommended it or anything. Is it OTC or prescription?
Hi I had balanitis and phimosis 10 month infection after infection and when I get hard pain so had circumcision I am on my 7th day and doing ok it sounds like you need circumcision get it done and sorted and don't worry I was in more pain with the above systems good luck
Hi don't worry about you have nothing to fear get sorted you will not regret it
If the doctor you are currently seeing hasn't suggested steroid cream and stretching, you may want to find a different doctor. It is the common first opinion for a tight foreskin.
This post is the most alarming piece of advice full of fantasy that I have seen in a while. I thought we had got past the “tell them anything to get them circumcised” situation. You have already been told that this is not what this forum is about. It is neither a “get them circumcised” nor a “never circumcise” forum.
I apologise that some of the advice you have been given is good advice and some not. In your situation, your tightness is not severe nor painful and stretching of the foreskin, usually with steroid cream, is a sensible way forward. Try you doctor again and let him/her know what you would like to try and would like a prescription. If you try this and it does not work then you may need to consider a surgical solution. In the meantime, use your shower time to do your penis cleaning.
Thank you for your reply and consideration. This is what I've been tempted by. The advice has been insightful. Although not clear due to conflicting opinions. I wasn't completely aware of the availability of this treatment but I will consult my GP about it.
Great stuff. Wander back if you need to chat at any time. Most of the members here just want what is best for you and not their own particular view of penis “beauty”
Sounds like a circumcision would probably resolve the balantis and infections you keep getting. If it were me I wouldn’t wait to get it taken care of as it sounds like you have tried all other options. Circ style isn’t really something urologists talk about I think - just make sure you get a full not a partial and don’t get it overly tight (NHS always does low and tight which can cause problems if you grow a lot).
If the foreskin is so useful how comes so many men have problems with it?
Surely the foreskin should function properly without any sort of medication, if that was the case then not many men would come on with the ever tight or very tight foreskin problems we see on here on a very regular basis.
