I had this same issue, drs recommended Vaseline, creams or lube but it didn’t make a difference then they recommended circumcision and I got it done 2 weeks ago now

Thank you for reply! But I don’t wanna remove my Foreskin. there must be other solution! Since when you had been facing this problem?

No worries about removing foreskin. Cuts are nearly always related to a yeast problem. There are two common causes for yeast to flourish. The first is being too aggressive in hygiene. Quit using soap. The preputial cavity is naturally inhabited by friendly bacteria whose job is to maintain healthy conditions and prevent infections by bad bacteria, yeast and viruses. When you wash with soap, you wash away those friendly bacteria, setting yourself up for infection. So start washing with only clear water, no more than once per day.

The second common cause is unprotected sex with an infected partner. Use condoms to prevent exposure.

Less commonly, you might be diabetic, thus passing sugar in your urine and feeding yeast. The use of steroid creams in your foreskin could also be a cause.

A simple exercise to determine possible cause is to treat for yeast by twice daily applications of Clotrimazole cream to your foreskin and glans. Do it for ten days to two weeks. If it clears up, you know it's yeast.

Less commonly, for the same reasons, you might have a bacterial infection which your physician can treat with antibiotics.

If your foreskin opening has tightened, it is easily restored by simple stretching exercises.

Stay away from steroids as they encourage yeast growth.

That was a perfect solution to my current problem i will try the 2 weeks antifungal cream clitrimaxazole and see how it goes. But then I was getting too much vigilant on cleaning with soap and water every day ad that was the reason i found out that my skin was getting too dry and getting a sticky feeling. But, now I would try applying the cream for two weeks and then see for my self. Thanks a Lot

Good luck. In two weeks, you'll know. The Clotrimazole works fast, so if it is yeast, symptoms will disappear in 3-4 days. Continue applying to be sure it's gone. If there's no change, see the doctor for treatment for bacteria. The odds are that it's yeast. Before the advent of miracle drugs, women with yeast infections applied plain yogurt to the affected area, the reason being to recolonize friendly bacteria. No harm comes from trying it.

Wouldn’t coconut oil work in an equivalent fashion?

Coconut oil offers some yeast protection.

Hi, best thing to do is see your doctor you could have an infection or yeast infection your partner may be causing this if it's yeast, your doctor will probably give you some antifungal and some steroid cream this should help. you should also be careful washing with soaps or gels they may irritate the foreskin just using water is best if you use any soap make sure and wash it off completely. You said you had some scarring it can be a problem when it comes to retracting your foreskin, if it continues to get worse eventually you won't be able to. in this case you would be better having a circumcision as no amount of stretching or creams will improve the scarring.

So the first thing to do is go see your doctor, hope this helps in some way Man all the best.

You could be suffering from BXO (Balantis). Usually doctors will give you anti fungal /anti inflammatory/ steroid creams. If it continues to happen then they resolve it through circumcision.

jimfromcalif profile image

BXO and common balanitis are two entirely different afflictions. The former is treated with specific, powerful steroids, while the latter is generally a yeast problem controlled with simple OTC yeast creams.

You should be able to get the antifungal cream from the chemist Clotrimazole and you're probably can get a low grade 1% steroid cream if you ask at the counter

MrMac99 in reply toAndySingh

The antifungal first Man Clotrimazole or something similar just tell them at the counter what you want it for and they will recommend one😊

Steroids are not used to treat yeast. They actually encourage yeast.

That is very true Jim I have said in a previous comment that he should see his doctor for a proper diagnosis. it may not be yeast infection it could be something completely different which needs to be properly assessed.

This is definitely something you want to take care of. Open cuts on your penis are a great way to get an STI.
