16 days post circumcision need some advice

Got circumcision on 7th October everything has healed except the frenulum part , i have some caked blood on top of the stitches there but when I try to clean it a little more blood seems to be appearing so I have left it alone , so my question is should I remove the caked blood or should I leave it until the bleeding stops ? My surgeon said not to soak it in Epsom salts but most people on here say to do it , confused☹️. Also with the caked blood on the stitches which are dissolvable will they still dissolve ?

Need this sorting out ASAP so I don’t get an infection

Also when I get an erection the caked blood seems to be pulling at my stitches maybe that’s what is opening the wound ?

Leave the caked blood alone. Don’t pick at it or scabs. As far as the stitches leave them alone also. If doc said not to soak it it’s probably because soaking it will remove the caked blood scab and the bleeding will start again. My advice is to just leave it alone.

agree with Bostonguy671, i'm 4 weeks post surgery and after 2 weeks I was very much like you, i had a few salt baths in the first week and I don't think it did me any favours. The frenelum area for me didn't really start to scab until about 3 weeks, I had to make a real effort to try and keep it dry and allow it to scab which seemed to help a lot. If i had to leave the house I would put a dressing around it but space the dressing off the wound with another dressing so when i took it off it didn't take the newly formed scab with it.

At 2 weeks it didn't look good at all and i was concerned it might be infected (although the doctor said it wasn't) and now after 4 weeks it looks so much better and the scab is getting smaller by the day.

As for the caked blood and bleeding I would leave it, i had the same, but after 3 weeks and when it had scabbed i started to let it get wet when showering and found the dried blood started to just clean off, i did give a dab with some tissue to help but you have to be careful not to remove the scab if it's quite wet

Try and leave it alone, that would be my advice.

Thanks Phil , that settles my mind a lot knowing you had similar experience, I’ll just leave it be .

I have noticed that the bleeding has stopped now even after morning erections so I think it’s on the road to recovery,

Must say all you people on this site are very helpful thanks again for taking time out to respond 👍
