Balanitis?

Hey there,

For the last several weeks I’ve noticed my penis has been quite inflamed, and the skin gets really dry and almost scaly looking. I have been trying to see my GP but the next appointment is not until 4 weeks.

I have been reading up on this online, from what I’ve read the symptoms appear to be Balanitis. It is more noticeable when erect. I have been applying coconut oil regularly, it eases the inflammation and dryness temporarily.

Any ideas how to cure this? Has anyone here had similar issues? As you can see from my photo, the head of my Penis is inflamed, red and the skin is very dry.

Hey bud, looks fine to me maybe a little dry but other than that no different to mine mate

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get in touch with an out of hours doctor and they told me it’s likely to be a yeast infection / thrush and I got prescribed a cream for it. Really hope it work. It’s gotten more and more irritated recently especially if I masturbate which I am trying to avoid until this clears up.

I had periodic (an occurrence every 6 to 18 months) bouts of balanitis for about 30 years. I finally opted to get circumcised and that has solved the issue.
