Hi, I'm 58 and have autoimmune thyroiditis ( hashimotos)and am taking t4/t3 hormone combination. I have almost optimised my blood levels and feel the best I have been for a long time. My issue is my muscles feel very weak and have twinges in my fingers when writing and doing mild exercises . I used to lift light weights at my gym up until covid. My question is how do I go about finding what my hormone levels are,my periods stopped 10yrs ago and have been dealing with my thyroid issue for 5yrs and have realised the importance of hormone balancing, maybe my muscular weakness is hormone related?

You can try to get your gp to test but they are unlikely to be helpful. Or you can pay for private testing (from £30 upwards depending on what you test) using the firms mentioned frequently on posts here or on the Thyroid UK website (Medichecks, Randox, Blue Horizon etc)

could be. I'm having the same issue.

Try supplementing with magnesium glyconate daily as well as hormone testing
