Hiya, I’m looking for some advice. I’m 22 years old and have been having symptoms of the menopause/ovary disfunction for about a year. I have suspected endometriosis (hoping to have laparoscopy soon but waiting list in uk is v v long)
My symptoms include:
Hot flashes
My cycle has gotten much shorter (I’m having a period every 1-2 weeks) but bleeding is much lighter than it used to be
Unexplained weight gain
Tiredness
Mood swings
Brittle hair
Dry skin
Insomnia
Heart palpitations
Dizziness
I’ve had full bloods done, all fine apart from a slight iron deficiency which I’m taking supplements for. Thyroid function is fine too (TSH 3.6 miu/L)
I’ve recently had my FSH and LH tested. My FSH is 3.6 iu/L and my LH is 5.0 iu/L. My doctor says these levels are normal and isn’t willing to do any further investigations.
I know that my symptoms aren’t normal. Especially for a 22 year old. Has anyone experienced this? What did you do about it? How do I get my doctor to listen to me? And if this isn’t the menopause - what the hell is it?!
Any advice MASSIVELY appreciated
