Help for menopausal symptoms for a person with severe restless leg syndrome.

I am in menopause and seeking relief of these symptoms… at times unbearable😫 I also have restless leg syndrome that I can manage at the present time with medicine and diet. I have been told that HRT can make my RLS symptoms worse, so I’m uneasy about going this route. has anyone had experience with this same situation? What did you do? Advice greatly appreciated! I’m not sure what condition is worse!!

Restless leg syndrome can be a symptom of iron deficiency. It's best to only start on a course of iron supplements after having a full iron blood test though, as too much iron can be dangerous.Ferrtin - your iron stores- should be over 30 and ideally 70, but many GPs call below 30 ok.

Mine were consistently in the 20s and my GP said they were in range. I started on iron supplements (along with an over 50's A-Z vit) and have had improvements on many so called menopause symptoms, including brain fog and fatigue.

My iron levels are good. I’ve dealt with RLS for a long time now and have that under control but these hot flashes are keeping me up all night. I’m ready for some sleep. Of course, that makes me moody during the day and exhausted. I’m glad to hear your symptoms improved with increased iron.
