I am 52 and going through the menopause and finding it difficult. I have been told by professionals that I can not have HRT as I have a family history of breast cancer and blood clots. I am just trying to deal with my symptoms with no help. I hate the mood swings, I suffer with depression and anxiety too. I wish that there was another alternative to HRT for us that can't take it

I think that the advice re breast cancer and HRT has changed in recent years but not all doctors know this. I don't know your circumstances and so it still might not be right for you, but worth checking out.I would do some research on up to date and knowledgeable sites like Louise Newson as Lavender blue said or Menopause matters. Also consider getting a good consultant appointment to discuss.
This information is wrong bodyidentical Hrt carries no risks of clots and Hrt does not cause cancer. I'm not sure why your Gp has said this as I am not medical. Women who smoke ,drink alcohol and are obese have more risk of cancer than those on Hrt. This is scaremongering from 2002 it is old data. Hrt is very beneficial for preventing Heart attack Dementia, and Osteoporosis . Look up the Balance app by Dr Louise Newson who is a Menopause Specialist. X
