Hi. I'm trying to manage the perimenopause naturally too. So far I've taken Mexican wild yam (mood) 5-HTP (sleep) and L-Theanine (anxiety). With some success. I've also adapted my diet to include food with phytoestrogens in them. It's a good idea to exercise if you can. I try to keep stress to a minimum but it's not always possible of course. I feel better on the whole but have accepted that I may not feel quite myself for a while. You may like to look up Marilyn Glenville.
Hello! Health anxiety can cause or massively contribute to digestive issues, so it’s worth taking measures to reduce that if you can. Write down a list of things that make you feel calmer/better and include those in your life more regularly. It could be singing or taking a walk in nature or having a luxurious bath. Amitripyline can help, as can CBT. Taking amitriptyline just before bed can also help with insomnia, and insomnia has so many knock on effects (anxiety/digestion) that it’s really worth trying to treat that as a priority. It’s also worth investigating if you have any food intolerances going on. The low FODMAP diet is worth a go - I found it transformative. Otherwise, peppermint capsules are helpful for dealing with burping and indigestion. Lastly, at some point, if you really can’t feel healthy without HRT, it’s worth reconsidering at some point. If life is becoming horrendously difficult, might a slight increased risk be worth it in order to feel better? Only you can really answer that. Really hoping you find some sort of solution that works for you.
CBT is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It allows you to address anxiety or other problems through a structured program. I did it a little and found it helpful. You can self refer in the UK through IAPT.
