Medrol to Hydrocortisone for suspected steroid withdrawal?
I've been on
Medrol
since mid-December -Had successfully reduced from 48 mg to 4 mg and was doing well. Reduced from 4 mg to 3.5 mg and have had extreme fatigue, weakness, lightheaded, brain fog, nausea. No signs of PMR flare. Went back to 4 for a couple days, then 6 and still a mess.

How do you handle high appetite?
So I'm over 6 month post transplant, and as a part of my 3-component immunosuppression therapy I'm taking methylprednisolone (
Medrol
by Pfizer), 6mg. And my appetite is so unusually high! I'm almost always hungry.

Hi everyone, Just wondered if anyone has had a chronic reaction to a steroid shot? I am only tiny and was given 120mg a month ago and I am literally grounded still with the worst nausea. I can barely eat and have lost 3/4 stone so am down to 7 stone ☹️ Is it possible I had too higher dose and my immune

Steroid side effects?
After my GCA diagnosis I am on 40 mg
Medrol
at the moment. The classic GCA symptoms like headache, jaw pain, scalp tenderness 99% gone. Also my dry cough is totally stopped. But.. I have other weird and frustrating symptoms.

After Zytiga and
Medrol
were added. PSA declined to .40 in February 2024. While I have been happy with recent treatment, the meds brought on joint and muscle pain and aggravated mobility issues (previous back surgery, three collapsed vertebrae).

Update day 6 - Treatment fir Richter’s Transformation
Finally had my stat MRI 24 hours after the reaction. In this hospital stat is anytime within 24 hours of order written. MRI did not show tissue swelling or changes in neck and throat and the nodes have shrunk a little. Chest x-ray was normal, but did show another enlarging node on the right close to

Bruising on legs
I have been on
medrol
now for 8 years. I’m down to 3mg. I have experienced easy bruising on my legs they have lead to severe wounds. I now wear compression socks and padded protection on my lower legs. My question is, do the dark spots left over from the bruising ever go away?

Telephone appointments with a Rheumatologist?
I have just received a Rheumatologist's appointment letter & was surprised to see that it will be conducted over the phone. I just wondered how common this is. I am still awaiting a definitive diagnosis having been told in January, March & June that I have seronegative inflammatory arthritis. The

Oh dear Benipali
After two successful years on this for RA I came crashing down a few weeks ago. Briefly a few or even more months ago I started really painful stomach cramps and were unbearable and were pretty constant. Let it go for a while and messaged the dept about them. Possibly not Beni although it can be a side

Update on appointment with professor Hughes
So I had a really good appointment today with professor Hughes. He listened to what I had to say and had read the medical history pre read I had sent him. After a good chat about my PMR/pred journey and all the steroid sparing drugs I had tried he came up with 3 options. 1. Stay on 10mg of pred and

I am back! In need of your excellent advice...
After successfully reducing to zero pred last autumn, the symptoms began to reappear. After advice about how to deal with a flare I increased the dose (to 15mg), but that didn't seem to help. Then I was given a depo-medrone injection, with the advice that it would last a couple of months and hopefully

Flushing and menthol sensations
I stopped using any steroids (low dose prednisone and depo
medrol
knee injections), B3, alpha lipoic acid and quercerin. Allergist did a tryptase test (normal) and has ordered another within 12 hours of next reaction (I'm hoping it never comes) She also ordered epi pen.

bombing a flare
That was followed by a
Medrol
pack for the next week and, with exercise, I got over the sciatica. Of course, we know about sciatica but not about PMR, and they are so very different in kind and effect.

Fell today. Flare or injury?
Also may have hurt RIGHT shoulder and upper arm which had already been symptomatic (and I raised
medrol
dose 5 mgs—didn’t help but doc doesn’t want me to add more.) It hurts to move it certain ways more than before and Ibus didn’t help.
