I’m very isolated and unfortunately can’t get out much due to a disability. Is there anything more social online where I can make friends? What platform is best? Perferably a social group over a support group, I just want a friend or two.

Combating isolation online?

88cev88,
I use to belong to a great online support group where I made friends, they had a chat once a week. Unfortunately I don’t think the group is together anymore. You could always google online support groups. You could maybe make friends that way.
I’m sorry that you are disabled and can’t get out much. That’s so hard. I haven’t left the house in two years because of anxiety, so I know what it’s like to feel alone.
There’s a chat feature in this group where you could always send me a note and I’d get back to you.
😊
I've been trying to find more social outlets as well but not having much luck. I tried relying on "family" as a last resort but that turned out to be mostly just an illusion that I ended up paying the price for . My wife and I moved to care for my father who has since passed away. We work remote so there's hardly a reason to leave our place and we're in a very rural area with the closest town being miles away. The friends I did have, have since started families of their own as where my wife and I are unable. For whatever reason we've been entirely ghosted. Not fair, but is what it is. If you'd like, feel free to message me.
Try looking for interest specific groups. I have found some welcoming on-line social groups in the fountain pen community on YouTube. I won't pretend it's the same in in-person relationships, but I also spend most of time at home and these groups can take the edge off the loneliness for a while.
Isolation is awful. Sympathy and support.
