well after last weeks missing out on a first 10 miles by misjudging km/m distances by 100 metres I finally cracked it running in terrible rain for 1 hour 40 I was absolutely soaked to the skin and then some. But I’ve managed it yippee!.

Thank you it really was coming down , interestingly I averaged around 40 - 50 seconds slower per mile than my nearly 10 dry weather attempt of last week. I checked the stats in comparison. Is that normal to be significantly slower in precipitation?.

Honestly - I tend to run quite well in the rain but I guess it depends on just how bad it is… wind and rain is difficult though! Could be you were feeling a residual fatigue after two long runs (if I remember rightly, you had increased distance quite quickly?)

Well Gentlydoesn’t that definitely does merit the award of your shiny 10 mile badge. We ought to have “with distinction” awards for horrible rainy days! I see that you weren’t taking any chances on the distance!

You have earned a hot shower, slap up meal and then, if you are anything like me, a long sleep! Maybe that is just my age!

10 miles is a really nice distance; a real step on from 10k, but without the complications of moving on to HM. I can see you eyeing the latter before long though!

Really good time for a first 10 miles too. Many congratulations!!🙂

I do find it amazing that I was worried about running for 20 mins ( non stop ) in November of last year in fact I lost sleep worrying about it and 4 months later I ran for 12 mins off two hours ( non stop ) amazing how you change and your stamina changes in a short period of time if you stick to it !. Thanks to all.

We discover things that we can do which amaze ourselves; you have come a long way very quickly. As we go further, maybe even faster, we need to make sure that strength in our muscles, tendons ligaments etc develops to cope with the additional demands. There are plans out there which help a lot; but that is for another day. Today?🥂well done.

Massive congratulations! 10 miles is a great milestone and a perfect point to take pause, feel proud, and reflect on everything you've achieved 👏👏👏

Fantastic, I knew you would get the full 10 miles done sooner rather than later. That's a great achievement, in the pouring rain too!

I remember the first 20 minute run in C25k week 5 being a horrifying thought too. You've come/run a long way since then. Congratulations! 👏

I did that once for a virtual HM and stopped just short of the full distance. I couldn’t believe it! It’s easy enough to do if you're not thinking on the day and it’s not an organised event. But you've done it now and there’s no mistake. Well done!
