Having had another hit to my already wonky health, I've reverted to run/walk 2mins/1 min in the hope of getting round my Half Marathon in two weeks time, so what better opportunity (I thought) to test it out on this run... I checked the weather - 11C, small chance of rain...all fine and dandy BUT I didn't check the wind!
An out and back route along the Cam to Baits Bite Lock will be nice methinks. I should have known better really! Very nice for the "out" but when I turned round to come "back" I was nearly blown over! I managed to complete the run, but my legs were screaming by the time I finished, at some points I felt I was making no forward progress at all!!
So -1 hour 33 mins, pretty much par for the course really, although I had hoped for something a tad quicker... next time maybe!

Ooh, that's tough when you don't realise isn't it. I've had similar on an out and back route where it's taken me totally by surprise. An extra well done for battling health issues and the wind, and all the best for the Half marathon too.
Thanks Katnap, I've recovered from the horrible run, but awaiting tests at the hospital. They have put the date back a bit so I can still run my HM next week, not sure if that is a good thing or not!
Sounds like the concern with the medical staff is they want you to remain active, so good news! And they probably know us runners are made of stronger stuff and will do it anyway. Enjoy your day next Sunday 🐱👍
The doc was very understanding and said "You will have trained of course". I think there's a waiting list anyway for the procedure so another week hopefully won't make much difference. I will have to stop exercise for 2 weeks after, that's more why really.
It a biopsy for possible skin cancer, and will need stitches, doesn't sound like fun.
Oh, and I'm raising funds for my favourite charity, I don't usually do the fund raising thing, but it's going very well, and I'm a bit surprised at how motivating it is, and how touching that so many people want to sponsor me.
