Did it! Beautiful morning, sun out, slight breeze, nice shade down my usual old railway line routeβ¦..
My last 10k was in September 2023!!! So this run was going to be slow, but who cares π At my usual turn around point at about 5k I decided to continue. It is months and months since I last did this route. It goes along lanes, through a picturesque village, (complete with βchocolate boxβ cottages), up a very steep hill (yes I did βrunβ up it!) then back down to join the original route. One advantage of hills is the views π My runs with Squiggy are always a bit of stop and start because I have to keep putting him on/off the lead depending on livestock. Today I had an extra breather as the cows crossed the track, very slowly.
The last 2k was a bit of a struggle, I tried to speed up a bit but to no avail! The only fast parts of todayβs run involved Squiggy pulling to catch up passing cars, silly doggie π
Now thenβ¦..maybe a π₯π€ havenβt had one of those in quite a while!

Well Done skysue16 and Squiggy! The HU 10 k has been a great way of pushing us a bit, hasnβt it? I do love a run on a disused railway line but it sounds like you added some hill work too. Brilliant and you definitely deserve a medal.
Well done! First 10km after a significant gap does feel such an achievement doesn't it? Congratulations! πππ»ββοΈπππββοΈπ
Well done skysue; that was a terrific run. I have never been able to manage running and dog control, although, in fairness Molly is a bit bigger/ heavier than squiggy! You definitely deserve a π₯π
Molly is huge by comparison! Squiggy is a good running pal now and even follows verbal directions βleft, left and βthis wayβ (right), but when we were learning it was quite tricky! I have fallen over him a few timesβ¦.when he suddenly stopped to sniff! π¬π€
