Itβs that time again to wave lots of pompoms and show show-stopping support for all racers this coming week. If you have an event and would like a shout-out then let us know as soon as you can and we will add your details to our post π₯³
βοΈ A loud cheer and excited pompoms now for our very own Speedy Superstar, RunBrianRun , who will be taking part in the London Veterans Club Championships 60m on Sunday. We know what you can do Brian and we will be right behind you cheering you on every step of the way (we couldnβt overtake you if we wanted to! π)
Brian has a busy month coming up with races almost every weekend, and a biggie to finish with. But first, letβs get those pompoms fluffed and arms prepped ready for a massive collective cheer on Sunday. GO BRIAN!!! ππββοΈπ½π£
βοΈ The only other VRB with a race is me! I have my first ever night race on Saturday in the Westonbirt Arboretum 10K. Itβs also the first ever night race for the organisers so I had to do it! First timers all round π
I need lots of luck and pompoms as my night vision is not good so it could be an interesting night to say the least. I might end up in another county π
Ohh, that sounds fun IP, and hopefully not too challenging underfoot. Have a blast, then show us your bling πHave another great one RunBrianRun we know you can smash it; is this your new favoured distance?
Thank you, Linda. Iβm not sure itβs my favourite distance, itβs more about preparing for the outdoor season and the 100m. Having said that I do seem to be doing pretty well at it. π
Good luck Β Irishprincess ! Westonbirt is a gorgeous place-Iβm so envious of you running on Saturday. That race is on my hit list. Youβll have a super time and you know on e you start, the race magic will come and all the nerves will be gone. When I did a night race on the Severn bridge, I was pleasantly surprised by how much light there was from other runnersβ head torches. Have a brilliant time!
Good luck to you too Β RunBrianRun ! Pom pins waving madly here!!
Thanks MissU. They hold lots of races there during the year but I tend not to do them as I can run there any time I want so it never feels different enough for me. But this will be a bit magical i think with all the lights from the runners and spectators too. Theyβve been told to bring lights too βοΈ
Woohoo, pom poms are fluffed and poised for action in the chilly West Country, so letβs go RunBrianRun . Whizzy as ever and sure to make us proud! π₯
And Irishprincess , how exciting! Fluffed up dayglo pom poms for you! Canβt wait to hear how it goes! π
Good luck for your event IP - sounds fab! Iβm not great in the dark eitherπ¦π€£ , although I seemed to have managed a winter of running in the dark after work without tumbling!π
Good luck with your race too RunBrianRun - we know you are a man on form, so really hope it goes well for you!ππ
pom poms fluffed up in (not so sunny) Stratford for you and RunBrianRun . Looking forward to reading the reports, especially yours IP as I think there is something magical about organised runs in the dark, not that Iβve done one.
Happy running, trotting or plodding to everyone else out there this weekend.
Brilliant. I went to a Glow evening at RHS Wisley one winter and some people had fairy lights around their welly boots. It looked great seeing them walking in the dark.
That sounds like a really magical run IP. I bet the trees will look amazing lit up by so many little lights. Have a great time! And go Brian ππ»ββοΈ I think yours may be over slightly quicker than IPβs, but enjoy!
Best of luck tomorrow RunBrianRun and best of luck tonight Irishprincess , here's a random fluffy pom pom I found on the web to wave for you both. π
π«’ apologies,I was somewhat diverted yesterday! Brian, I know that you will give this all you have; have a great evening. Maybe not operation legless tonightβ¦many runs in the pipe line!
Irishprincess; that sounds like a really atmospheric run. Running in the dark is a special experience;I hope that you end the day with a big smile of satisfaction ππ
Oh gosh, it does sound quite eventful. Hope the sore parts are feeling better, but does overall sound like quite an experience! I have never run with a head torch, so well done to you for that alone!
