We have some fabulously varied locations this week and, after weeks and months of training, our racing VRBs are ready to take on their various challenges and would love lots of pompoms for support. So letβs get those vocal cords warmed up and the pompoms fluffed up and ready for lots of waving for our superstars π₯³
βοΈ First up on Sunday we will be in London where Mudita11 will be kicking off our pompom waving at the Vitality London 10K. The start line is on the Mall and the route takes in many of the capitalβs landmarks and finishes in front of Buckingham Palace! How cool is that? No doubt, there will be loads of photos taken and fabulous memories made along the way Mudita π
βοΈ Leaving London we head to Warrington where history will be made on Sunday. The Warrington Running Festival 10K will be the βworldβs first free to enter, chip timed, road closed runβ! And our very own Time_Lord will be there. Apparently 20,000 people applied for the ballot but only 6,000 places were released. Well done TL on this achievement alone!
βThe event has been made possible by the Runthrough Foundation with the aim of improving the physical and mental health in communities across the nation through runningβ.
βοΈ It wouldnβt be a weekend without Katnap and TailChaser running a race! And this one is a biggie πͺ So this Sunday they will be taking on a 20 MILER around an auto drome, the Running GP Bedford Autodrome. Thatβs six laps to you and me! All done on a traffic-free racing circuit.
I believe this run is part of their training before the Amsterdam Marathon in a few weeks so weβre sending you both oodles of support and luck on the circuit. Vroom vroom to both of you πββοΈπββοΈ
βοΈ After that mammoth run our pompoms have no time to rest as they are needed in Norfolk where Hedgehogs123 will be toeing the start line of the Run Sandringham 10K. This gorgeous route takes place around the Royal estate grounds and local roads and trails of the countryside. Sounds as if this might be a regular for you Hedgehogs π as I think you did it last year.
βοΈ Before we go, just a little reminder that our very own GB athlete, RunBrianRun is still in Pescara, Italy for the Masters European Championships. These go on until the 27th.
Brian will be running in the M60 100m and 200m individual races and potentially in the M60 4x100m GB relay team. We are thinking of you Brian and sending you loads of luck and excited pompom waving ππ₯³ π¬π§
Have a great weekend everyone. I hope that your runs and experiences turn out just as you would like them to. You are all amazing ππππππ
Mudita11 have a great race, myself and Folkylass did it virtually earlier this week but it would have been great to actually have done at at the event itself. Look forward to the race report!
Pom poms waving in Derbyshire. I hope your events go as well as possible and you return with lots of good memories. ππββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈπββοΈπ
Woah!! Here we are again! Massive pom-poms will be shaking for everyone. I have to say Iβd rather be joining Mudita11 at the Vitality as itβs a wonderful event but needs must. Have wonderful races everyone and I hope the weather smiles on us all xxx
I will be visiting the womenβs running catch up area before and after the run Cowladyrunning . I love that podcast and Iβm a patreon. Those two are hilarious π
