The Olympics are in the last few days but it’s not over here by any means! We need a final Olympic spectator flourish for our own amazing runners with events this week. So, get those arms and voices prepped because it’s going to be busy 🥳
⭐️ Our first event is tonight so there’s no hanging around. We need to get moving! Hedgehogs123 will be running the Sleaford Striders Summer 10K around the beautiful countryside of Lincolnshire. This is her third time at this race and we think we know why. Because there is lots of cake afterwards 😋 Now that is definitely a good reason for a 10K!

⭐️ No rest for the pompoms because the next race is on Saturday. We’re heading to the Isle of Wight where aliboo70 will be taking part in the “Across The Island” relay race. The course normally goes around the island but, because of cliff falls, it is now across the island and back! With eight teams competing, it will be a fun-filled event no doubt. Ali will be running with her friend and brother. Good luck to all of you!

⭐️ All those pompoms already and we’re just moving into Sunday! TailChaser and Katnap are in training for their Berlin Marathon so Sunday’s event is part of that plan, except they have to run an extra 3 miles because that’s what the plan says! How are you going to do it guys? Run past the finish line and keep going? 🤣 The Solihull HM is, according to TC, “undulating but a nice one in and out of the posh bits of South Birmingham”. They did it last year so they know what to expect 🙂
⭐️ Our final star is our very own sprinter superstar RunBrianRun who has an awesomely exciting week coming up. The 25th World Masters Athletics Championships take place in Gothenburg over the period 13-25th August and our very own Brian is taking part!
His first event, the 100m, is on Tuesday the 13th. If all goes well, he’ll proceed to the semi-finals on the 14th, and the final will be in the same evening 🤞
There’s more to come after this week for Brian, so keep an eye out for the pompoms post next Friday for even more pompom requests 🥳
