My FM training plan called for a 5k or 10k race as the long run. None around near me this weekend, so it was time to finally pop my Park Run cherry as it was the closest I could find to a race.
Preston park run is a three lap route including ‘the hill of doom’. 😛
Set off too far down the field (of 397) and was baulked in the early stages. Happy with the official finish time though of 30:00, I clocked a few seconds less, but also 20m shy of the 5k.
Quite enjoyed the experience, once the marathon is out of the way I may well do some others.
Yay 😁 I ran the Preston park one recently, started near the back and ended near the back 🤣 Worthing is a flat out and back if you want a fast parkrun, lancing is also great if you don't mind the first part across the grass and back. Enjoy your much longer runs that are coming up
Well done on your first parkrun! I did a few this year during the early part of my full training as well. Times and distance are rarely accurate on them.Best of luck on the LSR next weekend. Slow and steady is the word. I'm about to go out for a 20k for mine.
