The last chat of the year! It’s a short one because most of us are busy, busy during this week of the year but hopefully you’ll find some time to get outside and have a few runs.
I hope Santa has brought you fabulous running treasures so feel free to tell us all about them in the comments!
This is your chat so you can pop in and out over the coming week to share your news or just to read about what your running buddies here are doing.
Whatever you’re doing have a wonderful break and the team wishes you a peaceful time and the warmest of Christmas wishes to you and your loved ones.
With lots of love xxx

PS Santa brought me a new Sweaty Betty running jacket and a vibrating foam roller 🤗

A very happy Christmas to you Irishprincess, have a lovely day, no parkrun for me today, just as well as its raining again, I hope to go a short 3K "maintenance run" tomorrow, Boxing Day in the UK, St Stephen Day in Ireland 🇮🇪
Thanks Irishprincess, I enjoyed my short run this morning, had to shorten it because of ice, however, as it was shorter than expected, I will be going a 10K walk this afternoon because it's a nice cold winter day and not raining.
I had a lovely 10K walk in brilliant sunshine on Tuesday afternoon, 5K there, 5K back home, mainly on a quiet country road, the last 800 metres is through woodland with mature pine trees off road, the sun shining through the trees was very magical, just as well it wasn't today as the weather is ☔ rainy and very dull.
No running for me today. We had three Christmas Eve services back to back yesterday with over 1000 people attending. Boys woke us up today at 5.30am. Thanks boys 🤣
28km to run this week which will take me to my next town on my run down under journey. Total for 2023 will be 2227km for the year.
Looking forward to a quieter running month in January. Marathon training starts in February.
Thank you for hosting Irishprincess and seasons greetings to you 😊
Tasha99 ran 185th Parkrun at Albert Park with me today. In the New Year we have a short break together in London and will run Bushy Park. Sending our warmest wishes to you all 🎅 🌲 ❤
Merry Christmas everyone. This must be the first year I haven’t received a running related gift (probably because Santa knows I have enough!) but I did give some festive snoods to friends.
My 12 runs of Christmas have been completed, including all the fun challenges, and I’ve posted it in 3 parts on the Bridge. I’ve run 31 miles over 13 days so I feel I have earned my Christmas tree decoration medal, and it has take pride of place.
I’m off to visit family today so communication will cease for a while, as will running.
Well done on your challenge Dexy! That’s brilliant. And what a fab decoration too. Every time you put him on your tree you’ll be reminded of your runs 😍
I hope you had a lovely Christmas IP. No running gifts for me this year, but that's OK.
I ran today despite all the excesses of a lovely day yesterday. The plan said speed run - NRC Triple Sevens - so that's what I did. And it was lovely to be out on my own, pushing my little legs forward 🤩 It was the first time I'd worn my new Sweaty Betty leggings to run in (I have worn them almost daily for the last month, but never for a run 🙈; I was most disappointed to find they kept slipping and I had to keep hitching them back up😏. Hmm. That wasn't in the plan!!! If I ever get rid of this extra weight then they'll probably have to be designated as everyday and pilates wear!
I have a long (18-20k) run next and all I see on my forecast is rain, rain and wind! Could be interesting ... but it's happening whatever the weather and I'm really looking forward to it. Indeed, with a whole month at home I am really looking forward to just catching up with myself and taking the time to enjoy my runs 😊
Good for you Linda for getting out yesterday. I was due to head out but we have a big local hunt in our roads and it just wasn't worth meeting them all!
That’s a shame about the leggings. I do think the different styles are cut slightly differently but they should still stay up! The Zero Gravity range fits me like a dream but I have a pair of Power leggings and they don’t fit quite so well. You should tell SB Customer Services, they seem pretty good at taking the feedback.
This weather is making running a tad tricky some days. I have to avoid some local roads because the puddles have turned into lakes 😳
I managed run 1 of week 4 of C25k with my niece. It was really wet 😁🏃♀️🏃♀️ I lent her a cap 🧢 She’d had a new hooded Nike trail run jacket and new pair of Asics shoes so was keen to give them their first airing
Hi everyone! Belated Christmas wishes to you all! 🌲
Well ours hasn't been as planned but Kenny gets home tonight after 9 days in hospital with his daughter 😪, she's still in sadly but her mum taking over from tonight.
So I've got a roast dinner cooking, just hoping the ferrys will be running as they were stopped due to the weather!
Christmas eve I went to a Carol service and to visit some local Christmas houses(see piccy!)
Running wise been a bit slack, did my 1st ever Christmas Day parkrun then dinner at my sisters with family and her lovely dogs 🐕. Braved the Boxing day Sea dip at Gurnard again yesterday which was fun . Might try to get to club tomorrow night , and have a trail race/plod on Saturday!
Running pressy wise got a water bottle carrier (but I have my hydration vest so not sure I'll use as its quite bulky, how do I approach that?!) Some great gloves and Buff too!
Hope you've all had a good break,I'm looking forward to January and starting afresh! Xxx
Those lights look amazing! I love to see the way people light up their homes and gardens, it’s one of the joys of Christmas for me.
It sounds as if you had a busy Christmas Day Ali. I hope Kenny got home ok and you both enjoyed time together. It must be such a worry for his daughter.
January is just around the corner, here’s hoping it’s a great one for all of us xxx
