I refrained from using Noddy Holder as the picture today, and went with a bunch of Father Christmases from our Glasgow Santa Dash instead.
How's your Christmas running going? Better than mine I'll warrant! But I'm finally off work now, and I'm currently not looking like I'll be back till the 21st January, so promise to get some catch up runs in very soon! And I'll need to, as breakfast today was a tube of gingerbread latte cookies from Lidl, in front of Sean the Sheep the Movie. Ah, Christmas.
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion ๐
If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
Have a great week, and enjoy those runs ๐

Felt very sluggish and clumsy on my Christmas afternoon 5k around the Park. After all the chocolate, cake, sparkling grape juices and so forth not surprising. Also, as this is only my fourth or fifth run after all the weeks laid up with pnuemonia certainly not surprising.
What did surprise me though - when I checked the time it was the fastest 5k I've done their in over a year!
Started me thinking that MAYBE a longer rest periodight actually be beneficial some times between the usual one?
Lots of eating and drinking this week. Lots of driving of relatives back and forth too. Got out for a 10k on Monday and hoping to maybe get another 7-10 in tonight or tomorrow morn.
My last run was on 21st Dec (10k)! Far, far, far too much food and drink for a whole week! Planning an icy run tomorrow and there's an organised 10k on NYE to look forward to. Found some handy 9mm screw-in metal shoe spikes that can be used in older runners to give a bit more grip on sheet ice.... puuilo.fi/Ruuvattava-Kenkae...
Article describing how to install spikes on the periphery of the shoe.
I was suprised they didn't get plucked out with all the shear force when the foot lands and also from the push-off! Great cheap hack instead of buying 150โฌ ice stud shoes. Can only place them on the periphery of the sole though as they would be "felt" mid foot or central heel I think.
Hi all! I havenโt been eating to complete excess, and have managed 3 runs so far this week. Iโm not quite back to usual form, as my body wasnโt quite up for it yesterday.
I havenโt managed parkrun today. Iโve been so inspired by aliboo70 โs tales of the Abominable Snowman race that I gave a 10k entry to hubby. The race is today, and Iโve come along to support him.
Have a great โromjulโ - i.e. the days between Xmas and New Yearโs Eve!
Hi all ๐. Been AWOL for a few days due to pressure of domestic drudgery ๐คจ๐. I have managed to escape though and get a few runs done Iโm going out for dinner tomorrow somewhere oop tโnorth but hope to run when I get back ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ
