Tasha and I are in the middle of a week away together. We travelled to Wolverhampton on Friday (Town away at Walsall on Saturday) and ran a stunningly beautiful Wolverhampton Parkrun on Saturday morning. It was Tasha's 171st and my 32nd.
We also ran by the Staffordshire and Worcester canal after Parkrun and again for a 10k run this morning.
We had a lovely Jamaican meal last night and are going to have the same again this evening. We're having a great time here.
Tomorrow we head to my home town of Braintree in Essex and to visit my parents on the coast in Frinton on Sea. We'll run another couple of times and we are really enjoying our little break away and loving running together.

Next Sunday morning I will be running my 44th 10K but it will be my first event race 10K at the local community Cumbernauld 10k starting and ending at Broadwood Football Stadium, the 1st, 7th, 8th, 9th and final kilometer are on the off road route I run most of my 5 and 10K runs, K2 to 6 will be on closed roads, at least in one direction, I now have my bib number which is 212 and will put it on over my London Vitality Virtual 10,000 red T Shirt which I got after I ran it last year.
It was from the Parkrun course which was so beautiful π I've not been here before but where we're staying is close to the canal and it's so peaceful π
Sounds lovely. My grandparents used to take me into Wolverhampton on the bus (or buzz as they would have said) from Bilston but never spotted scenery like this. Just shows there are wonderfully wilder places everywhere if you look.
Gorgeous photo, fab post, and I'm envious of your having a Jamaican meal! Of course there's plenty of wonderful food where I live, but it's almost solely French or (good) pizza - other cultures are barely represented.
I got used to running solely by the water living near the Humber and now I'm by the Tees, I've been spoilt π It is so wonderful for us to have initially met on here through our love of running and now we've been living together for 6 months. We support each other all the way.
So good to read this GTFC and Tasha99 ! Sounds like you are both having a wonderful time in Wolverhampton - running together in such a beautiful place and that Jamaican food sounds perfect! I'm a teeny bit jealous of that. My Hen do (many years ago) was at a Caribbean restaurant - jerk chicken if I recall correctly. It was quite left field at the time! πHave a lovely visit to Essex - I'm sure you will
Thank you so much Birdlady64 Essex means so much to me and the rest of my family are still there. We had the same food again tonight as it was unreal last night. Goat curry, jerk chicken, rice and salad with two dumplings π Your hen do sounds ace! Hope you're keeping well π
