So have been slowly working my way through a Garmin HM plan. Not with a specific half marathon in mind but just to help motivate me to do a few longer runs and give a bit of variation in my runs. I missed quite a few runs, and paused the plan and extended the plan a few times but finally today Mr Garmin and Coach Greg said- time to give the HM a go.
I set out with the aim of running the first 10k to see how I felt. Fortunately this left me about 5k from home so by the time I got back close to home that only left just over 6k .Well 6k is doable so plod plod plod and beep beep said Mr Garmin. ✔️ So pleased with myself.
Even happier that I got a new PR 2:27:03 so have finally broken the 2.5 hrs barrier .
Mr Garmin said well done -and promptly docked me a point from my VO2max!!!! -think he's just jealous?

Congratulations! You must be absolutely thrilled with that run. Brilliant! You’re right-MrG is clearly envious of your superb performance and feeling grumpy.
Hope you’re going to have a little celebration! 🎉🏃♀️♥️
Thankyou I was!I shall be meeting a friend for a celebratory coffee later -(dry January) .But first I have to finish blowing raspberries at Mr G . Not sure how you spell thths-thhts!?
Thsnk you. You must be really looking forward to your retirement. Just imagine all that running time! I have started and abandoned plans many times and this latest was meant to finish in November but I kept extending as work and life got in the way. I really enjoyed the variation in runs earlier in the plan. Have fun!!
