My pom poms are seeing a lot of action hurrah! Best of luck to Nikasa777 , RunBrianRun , Purplecat68 , Cowladyrunning , sTrongFuse , Dexy5 and of course UpTheStanley . Was thinking about the Portsmouth Posse yesterday as I can just about see the Spinnaker Tower from a high point near me. πππ
Thanks roseabi, Itβll be like having a school sports day! Weβve just been sent the race route and itβs 4 laps in Battersea Park, which could be interesting with all the overtaking. But it does end on a running track so that should give us a bit of an encouragement for a sprint finish. π ππ»πββοΈ
Good luck Nikasa777 , RunBrianRun , sTrongFuse , Cowladyrunning and Purplecat68 , and have fun
Two races in what seems like a very short distance apart. Have fun you super stars! ππ»ββοΈππββοΈππ PS Back on the ic for me knee injury has flared up I have no idea why it was 1 ΒΎyears ago. Why now?
Yes 2 in 18 days is very unlike us, but tempted by Battersea Park, and the fact that medals are allocated to each age group. As UpTheStanley was 10th in his age group at the London 10,000, he might be in with a chance. We havenβt a clue how many are running it.
So sorry to hear about your knee over61andstilltrying , I guess there will always be a weakness that has to be managed . Back to the exercises?
Wow 10th in what I imagine was a large field! Very impressive! I hope that you both have a really good time. Are you going for a PB? Enjoy it all including the running track finish! As I said, why now? Distance PB (10 miles) last November, 10km PB January 1st no knee trouble at all. I am perplexed. I have a physio appointment on Friday which I made simply ages ago about my Achilles tendon which is still swollen, but doesn't prevent me running. Obviously I am hoping the physio will have lots of knee wisdom for a would be runner.
Centuries-old pompoms this weekend, since I'll be spending it doing Renaissance singing and dancing! Happy running to you all, Nikasa777 π₯³, RunBrianRun π₯³, Purplecat68 π₯³, Cowladyrunning π₯³, sTrongFuse π₯³, Dexy5 π₯³ and UpTheStanley π₯³.
Thanks roseabi , Frenc , Dexy5 and Cmoi - As a special treat to myself, I'm giving myself next weekend off before the Edinburgh HM the following weekend (unless I find another local one to do between now and then, of course...)
No idea as to the elevation profile (I'm hoping it's flat, but it's exposed and could be windy), but this is the route map I've been sent for Sunday...
Random googling suggests it's mostly off-road, flat and there's a golf course there. I am a mine of useless information. There again, so is that map. π
Turned out, flattish, albeit with one soul-sapping climb between 7k-8k. Came home in 57:28, and another very nice, handmade wooden medal to add to my collection.
Thank Crunchie its Friday-couldn't come fast enough what a week! Anyway work's now finished and I'm off to spruce up my pompoms and get a bit of practice in on the old cheerleading ready for all you runners this weekend. Good luck and have lovely time!
Go, go, go everyone! Pom pom waving here in Derbyshire! Looking forward to reading all about your adventures. πππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈπββοΈππ»ββοΈπ
Thank you roseabi ! Sorry I'm late waving for today we have been busy harvesting silage crop so I'm not very rested for tomorrow π€£ Good luck everyone running this weekend !
