I meant to do this run yesterday, but I wussed out! I just wanted a nothing day - no commitments, and general slothing, so that done, I knew I had to head on out this morning instead.
Anyway, Iβm glad I did as there was a triathlon on the go and for a while I was accompanied by lots of bikes whizzing past in the opposite direction. It felt like a bit of company, and I cheered them on as I ran. Towards the end of my run in a country lane a family had put up a load of bunting in the trees - I assume they were waiting for a family member to go past so they could cheer them on. I did what any self respecting person would do and pretended it was for me! π€£
So many people out today, triathlon notwithstanding. A family had taken their horse box up to Farley Mount, and out came a pony all saddled up waiting for the children to have a ride. And gazillions of not triathlon cyclists, quite a few runners, and people in general.
I am super pleased with this run! I took it super slow and felt I had a bit more in the tank, but I had 17k in my head, so 17k it was.
I hope everyone has a smashing bank holiday! π

I'm very good at it when it's a cold bleak day, can easily go back to bed with coffee and book, but not this weekend... It's a manic time with bees if I'm to prevent them swarming.
Thanks Soarky! You made me chuckle, I hope you arenβt still sulking - I know that feeling well π€£. Mind you, Iβve been feeling pretty rubbish myself the last few days, even left work a bit early yesterday. I really enjoyed this run, just praying I can keep hold of whatever it is that pushed me on. I really hope you get out this weekend, you need to try your new shoes out π!
