Went out this morning in the frost to do a long run that I had put off from yesterday, having only ever done 17k in my prep for the Hastings Half next month I just kept going managing to do my first HM distance in 2:12:17. The last few k were a bit of a push but made it so now I’m happy as can be. I won’t do that distance again until race day as I don’t want to injure myself an have to miss it.😀

That’s amazing Runsome. I will take this on as my inspiration as I’ve signed up for a half marathon in May, ran 10 miles last weekend, hope to increase to this mileage before my big dayso thanks so much Runsome.
That’s fantastic Agelesslass . great going with the 10 miles. all the best with your training prep for your HM in May keep us informed how you go. Thanks RS👍😀
Oh wow Runsome, I am in awe! I’m living HM training and HM vicariously through you guys as that distance will never be for me, and I’m more than happy to support all my VRBs all the way. 😀
You go. You’ve got this nailed, and I bet it feels epic! 🏃♂️👊🙌
Hi cheeky. I didn’t think it was for me either but here I am a bit achy but ok. I didn’t ever think I could do this but encouragement from mutleyshuffle and pianoteacher made me think otherwise and I’m glad I’ve signed up. The main thing is do what you enjoy. In another moment of madness I’ve also signed up for a super sprint tri in May but I can only swim 4 lengths continuously and haven’t used a bike in years so it’s a sharp learning curve to begin after the half marathon in March. I will let you know how it does or doesn’t go. happy running RS😀
Well done Runsome always good to get a HM distance under your belt. As has been said the mental barrier has been broken, Hastings will just be you next HM.
Thanks WhatsApp hopefully it will feel better with the Distance in the bag already, I’m just a bit daunted as the first 5 miles are predominantly uphill. but slow and steady should see me through and then there’s the downhill section to look forward to but then again I have struggled running downhill in the past. I will just forget about it and enjoy the event 😀
Yes, Harley Shute and Queensway are quite a climb. I have not don't the run myself but I work in Hastings so know the area. You can always walk for a bit if you need it, and its good that they are at the beginning of the run.
I am doing Eastbourne HM this weekend and if Iall goes well I am tempted to come along to Hastings a couple of weeks later and see for myself.
