HU 10k Autumn 2021

Not being able to do the HM and having FOMO saw me completing the 10k today! Was really looking forward to running in the Autumn sun, so opted for day run rather than early one, but as I was caring for my mother in law first I didn't set off until lunch time. I had decided to run home from theirs but worked out first I would go up hill for a few km to make the distance up to 10k. It was beautiful, lots of mud on road but not too slippy. At the top of the hill I could see they had written on the opposite hill again .... still trying to work out what it says (it's welsh!) It is the 'stump up for trees' charity who are planting on the hill next to the writing. Much of the way home is down hill after this. I was amazed I was only 2 minutes slower on the hills compared to my last flat time! I gained a strava trophy for 2nd fastest time up the main road (only because there were so many motor bikes whizzing past I just wanted to get off it!!) So I competed 10.03km in 1 hour and 3 minutes (moving time), elevation gain 166m. Loved the soundtrack again!! The wombles came on as I was finishing the 10k and wombling home the last .5km !! I'm listening to the rest of the soundtrack now.... Thank you again for organising this, it is great to do together, virtually!!

Now I re read your message ... it does say 'I can't do the HM this time' rather than I can't run!!! Ah well, a bit of poetic license won't hurt anyone 🙊😊
