Yey! I'm so pleased with this mornings run. My longest ever run (10.76km) and my fastest 10km (60mins, 10 secs) πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I'm so determined to get to 11km on my next long run! 🀞🏼

Brilliant run for you Clairer6873, however, this is the wrong forum, this forum is for runners who have ran at least 10 miles or more, if you post your run report to the Bridge 210K forum, tell the administrators that you have ran your first 10K, then you will see the words Graduate10 next to your username.

Sorry, my bad. I thought this is where people posted when on the journey to longer runs, hence mine over 10km (although only just!)

Welcome to the forum Claire! You are most definitely in the right place. We are here to encourage anyone on their journey beyond 10k and anyone interested in events/races of any length. You should spot lots of familiar 'faces' who are also planning to aim for 10 miles. Read around the pinned posts for information, join in the weekly chat and write your own posts to let us know how it's going or to ask for info or support. Above all, enjoy your journey to 10 miles - it's a great distance 😊

Well done! You're on your way to 10 miles. From this point, just keep extending little by little each week.

It's definitely possible. I did my first 10km in early February this year and my first 10 mile run about six weeks later.

Wow, thats brilliant πŸ‘ I'm sure it'll take me longer than 6 weeks but I'm really hoping to get there!πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

To be honest I probably overdid it a bit. I had tight hamstrings and glutes, and my body was instead using a different set of muscles (adductors on the inside of the thighs), which got a bit sore. A physio visit identified the problem.

Well done great achievement on your way to 10 miles brilliant πŸ‘ πŸ‘ keep going you'll be running that half marathon before you no it, just keep extending them miles it's all about distance not speed, I entered my first official 10k race last week only been running since January ran my PB for 10k 57.55 how fantastic I felt anyway keep it up and smash itπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘Š..

Well done Claire - and yes, you are definitely in the right place! πŸ˜€ I post here and on the Bridge to 10k…and still love popping on to Couch to 5K sometimes too! That’s a great run and a fab pace for your 10k! 10 miles is a good goal.

Top tip for the first time you run a bit further - drop your pace a little. It will really make a difference and your pace can become more of a focus once that distance is consolidated.

Happy running! πŸ™‚

Thanks Sandra 😊 pacing myself is something I need to get better at, I tend to set off too quickly! Thanks for the advice.

Great pace. If you can do 10km at that speed then 16km a little slower will be around in 6 to 8 weeks if you just add a little a week. And every week you'll set a new distance record!
