Spitfire Run 10km

My first race number arrived today. 10km, will be slow following spraining my ankle last week.

Interestingly, we are all given a pilot to run in memory of by the museum.

My real life surname ends in the suffix lamb so it's a coincidence, the name of the pilot I was given.

The pilot was 22 when killed during training, in Kenya xx

Wow, that's really a really powerful coincidence! What a thought provoking thing to underpin a race ♥

Yeah. It brings it home in a different way. The unusual way of doing it is thought provoking and makes you look up the stories so a name becomes a person, if that makes sense x

Oh eck it’s so sad isn’t it. So many young lives lost 😣

That said, do enjoy your run. You can rejoice in your freedom to run 🙂👍🏃‍♀️

Good luck, I am also doing this run on Saturday at the Museum in London, are you doing the same or running on Sunday at RAF Cosford? My pilot is a South African Pilot Officer who although he was shot down during the Battle of Britain he survived and left the RAF in 1946.
