I did 16k this morning so I'm feeling on track to run 21k in Blenheim in September now. It was hot even at 6.30 and my legs can certainly feel my run now but I seem to be able to reach 10/12k before I have to push on through and once I keep going I just keep going! I'm hoping to have run 22k before the official run but I have time now to take it steady and build up distance slowly now. It's just another 5/6k. Which I know can feel a lot some days but I also know now that I can do that. I'm focusing less on speed and more on hitting the distance at the moment, especially in this heat, but hill training and interval running is my next part of my plan. Full marathon next year! ππ€πββοΈ I feel I have truly crossed over into being a runner now lol.

Nicely done, Claire!! You'll do HM no problem
Your doing great. Can I ask why you feel you need to complete a HM before your race?
Well done - you are definately well on target. I too wanted to run the full distance before my race and ran 21k twice before the big day in the end. I also tapered for a bit longer than planned prior to the event. I hated tapering, it felt odd, but I went out and ran a PB for the distance on my HM, so it worked! Good luck in September!π
Awesome news, well done!!
Go steady between now and the event Easy does it πͺπππββοΈ
Well done Claire, just 20mtrs off the magic 10miles π€
Youβre going to crack it no problem. Iβm not going to do the full HM distance prior to my event, going to get to about 19k then taper off doing some intervals and hill repeats and giving myself a week off prior to the race.
Great running, you ARE a proper runner already π
Well done! I got up to 19.5km in my training, close enough to know it was possible but not the whole distance to have a time to beat!
Well done!
