Lol I felt like a car with square wheels running this morning! But we have to take the rough with the smooth 🀣. I don’t think I enjoyed one second, but running is a game of ups and downs. My last 2 runs felt brilliant, lovely and smooth, why oh why did I think this morning would be the same!

I’ve been resting my hamstring the last few days, and thankfully it felt ok if a little tight, but for some reason the top of my backside/hips (bips?) really felt it. I know why, have been watching box sets during some well deserved time off work, so just did some mammoth stretching.

A man in a motorised wheelchair came up behind me on my cool down walk. It’s up a rather nasty hill and I couldn’t walk any faster - he offered to get a cattle prod out to help me up the hill! I had to laugh as he wasn’t far off the mark.

What have I taken from this? Lolling around watching tv isn’t training πŸ˜†πŸ€£. Have a smashing day everyone!

But sometimes in life, all you want to do is sit and watch box sets πŸ™‚

I find if I sit for too long - long car journeys or lounging around on a wet day - then I get more aches and pains than when I’m moving around.

Glad your hamstring is ok’ish, the stretching should help. Do you use a foam roller?

Anyway, good for you for getting a 10K done…. without a cattle prod πŸ˜‚

Ah thank you! I have 2 foam rollers, and I did some serious rolling on it earlier, although I managed to fall off it a few times! Which is a bit sad πŸ˜†. Hope your orthotic’s behaving.

Haha yes I know what you mean about falling off πŸ˜‚

The fast 5K this morning felt fine but it’s the longer runs when I feel it more so 🀞for Sunday and hoping that my DIY has worked.

Well done on your fast 5k, I’ve got everything crossed 🀞 for Sunday for you. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well done on completing your run when it felt so tough πŸ‘πŸ» the importance of grinding those runs out is huge! Makes the good runs all the sweeter too πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Ah thank you so much! It was a grind, but I kept telling myself it’s all distance in the pot. Hoping for a much sweeter experience on Sat πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š.

Sometimes they’re hard work but you get them done anyway πŸ˜ƒ.

I have box sets bought me as gifts but I’ve never once sat and watched one film let alone a set πŸ™‚

I got through Guys n Dolls in about six parts as I can’t sit still long enough πŸ™‚

I drive my husband mad as I’m like a Jack in a box ☺️

Ha ha me too, I find it hard to sit still for very long. I went to the cinema the other day, it was difficult not being able to get up and randomly wander off! 😊😊😊

I don’t think there’s anything worse than being in the cinema when the film is boring 😀. Our cinema shut soon into Covid. Gone for good apparently

Well done for your 10K and for beating the gremlinsπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yes, we have to take the rough with the smooth, but this was still a good run for you! I’m sure you’ll enjoy the next one 😊

Some runs are terrible, devoid of any fun whatsoever. Some can be painful. Some are boring. Why? Many factors. Lingering injury, tiredness, life issues, lack of focus, overtraining, pushing it harder (or lacking desire to push it at all). Those issues come and go and another good run is around the corner, anyway.

Ah thank you for your wise words! I’m looking forward to that next good run πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ.

Definitely use the torture roller for the hamstring. If you sit most of the day (like I do) they get tight and need a knead.

Oh yes torture roller has been used! And fallen off, and sworn at! 😊😊😊

AHH funny post Frenc the cattle prod remark 🀣I felt this way on my last run aswell, but as you say got to take the good with the bad ..next one youl get a PB! πŸ’ͺ

I've done nothing today, lounging in the garden with a book πŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈ

Oooh sounds a bit like me recently although I’m trying to intersperse the inactivity with the evil foam roller. I did go to the supermarket as well, I guess that counts as exercise? Anyway, hopefully our next runs are better! Enjoy your garden! 😁😁😁

Ah Frenc I feel your pain. These are the runs we have to get through to move forward and reflect on I too felt I had to put a huge effort in to get around my long run Friday, I’ve experienced this before when I’ve completed a half marathon around 3weeks later - all will be well next week

Enjoy the next one πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Ah thank you Over62! Yes, I haven’t suffered like that in ages πŸ˜†. Hopefully tomorrow will be a different story, and I hope your next run after Friday’s goes well for you too - unless it was last Friday, I’m sure you’ve had some smashing runs since then. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
