And just like that, I ran my first Half Marathon yesterday!!! Whooop whooop.
The morning started with a checklistβ¦ headphones charged βοΈPhone charged βοΈ Water in the hydration vest βοΈ GU packs in the vest βοΈ And the amazing HM playlist on shuffle βοΈ
Decided to run an out and back, which meant that I couldnβt chicken out of the distance, and the route, although fairly flat through the Spanish countryside, did include the requirement to run and and down (twice) over a nice steep hill road going over the A30 motorway.
I will admit, those last 5ks were tough, especially as it felt as if I was running headfirst into a galeβ¦. (I wasnβt π€£π€£).
Pretty happy with the splits (although that wasnβt a driver), picked up a 10k PB with 1:12:35, and completed the entire thing in 2:38:09 π π πββοΈπββοΈ
To be honest, donβt think I shall run another one soon, but super happy to have accomplished this, especially as I only started running C25k last September.
I followed they NRC half marathon training plan, and enjoyed all of their guided runs, it really mixed up the training.
Tried to run a 3k this morningβ¦. Legs felt like lead π€£, looking forward to my Pilates class tomorrow, that will stretch some of the kinks out.
Time for the cava π₯π₯π₯
