I intended to do a long run today, my 4th 10 miles, and am super chuffed I managed 17.01k, or just over 10.5 miles hurrah! Mind you, the start of the run was a bit of a faff as my water bottle kept leaping out of my vest pocket, so I had to drink some early on to keep it wedged in. Also had to rearrange the laces on my right foot. π
I headed towards the rec where they were setting up for park run, I had a little giggle to myself about doing my long run then coming back to do park run, but that was very much a pipe dream! There were lots of eager beavers there very early - I really need to check it out properly one weekend.
Anyway, the new trainers seem ok - I think my calves have to work a bit harder, as theyβre not so squidgy, but I intuitively feel thatβs a good thing, as it will make my calves stronger.
Iβm made up I did this run, what with one thing and another, itβs been about 3 weeks since I did a long one - for me anyway!
Some of the ladies will know what I mean, Iβm getting my legs waxed later, so not sure if Iβll be able to get my legs in all the strange positions required - you need to be a bit of a contortionist on the waxing table!
