Oh itβs nice to be back with it being all properly autumnal! I had a lovely hol and the runs were great but Iβve no doubt lost a bit of fitness, so I was a bit nervous setting off earlier. Anyway, I decided on a slow 8k with a few hills, and took it very slowly. It was lovely going to the Butterfly Farm on the other side of town because on the way back Iβm always rewarded with a beautiful view coming down.
There was some shy sun and a nice breeze and the colours are looking lovely. I didnβt struggle too much but 8k was a sensible distance for me today. A return to building back up now so Iβll try to push it a bit further on Sunday. I hope everyone has a smashing day πππ.

Good run for you today Frenc, slow 8K, not all that slow, my PB time for a 8K is 56.14, so your 56.16 is almost the same as mine, I don't call that slow, I do agree with you that the Autumn colours at the moment are looking lovely.
Ah thank you! Then Iβm in solid company π. Yes, the colours are wonderful, I like the smell too, woodsmoke etc. It really is my favourite time of year π.
Welcome back French, and with a lovely autumnal post, yes I was out yesterday for a wee 5K and was enjoying the changes in colours beginning ππGlad you had a lovely holiday..and a great run to start back πππ
Ah thank you Sparky! It was lovely and needed. I keep saying it, but now to build back up again. Those long August runs seem a million years ago π€£. Iβll check your post out in a min - to be honest I havenβt been looking at HU much recently, but back to normal now π.
Not long to our Runniversary πAre you still aiming to go for a sub 30 min 5K? My closest has been 33 mins I don't think I could manage a sub 30.. π
Instead I think I will run a half marathon for mine..ππππββοΈ
Ha ha I was thinking about that - donβt know if I have half an hour in me! Iβd need to go somewhere really flat without too many people and traffic. A HM sounds like an excellent way to celebrate your end - you may get another PB! Wouldnβt that be something. I need to up the mileage again for a half, maybe December. But then It just kind of happened last time, we shall see! π
Winter for me! Iβm the idiot who once we get to November gets up every day looks out the window with expectation βdid it snow in the night??β lol π My excitement doesnβt fade again til April, and if we get a couple of flakes Iβm out there shivering and taking pictures
Thank you Ian! Itβs not literally a butterfly farm - that would be kind of cool though π. Itβs just what everyone calls it really. Itβs a nature reserve designed to attract butterflies π¦, and is lovely. I shall try my best on Sunday then back to work Monday boo π.
Sounds like you had no reason to be nervous for your first run back home! G'luck on going back to work. Always fun eh? NOT!
What a great way to enjoy your first run back! Have fun building the distance back - you probably haven't lost anything like as much fitness as you fear π
Ah thank you Linda π. Just sitting here on the sofa thinking about future runs and distance etc. I feel a plan coming on! And that doesnβt always happen π€£.
