That sure was mind over matter, especially towards the end πββοΈ. My first 10 mile run sort of just happened, but today I went out with the intention of doing it, and mentally it was tough!
It was overcast and a little bit muggy, so I got quite warm quite soon, but nothing too awful. It was busy out there, which I donβt mind too much - I love seeing what other runners are wearing as they whizz past! I think it was about 15 nil to other runners going past me this morning π. A young Labrador liked the look of me as well and sort of tried to climb up my back, but no harm done π π.
I think Iβll do quite a few more 10 miles then think about upping the distance towards a HM. I was very pleased there were no niggles whatsoever today, so all the foam rolling and leg strength seems to be paying off. Mind you, not sure how stiff Iβll be tomorrow!
Ah thank you so much! Iβm only guessing as I donβt have it in an easy to work out format that today was about a minute faster. But I am guessing! πππ
Ah that made me laugh! That would be quite something. A minuteβs rest in between π€£. I did the first one on June 14th so 13 days ago, just under 2 weeks. Hope thatβs more informative! πππ
Unbelievable π we are so running in sinc!! Congratulations on your second 10 Miles πππ I ran my second on Saturday and I ran it a minute faster than my first π
Oh thank you so much, thatβs really kind π. Itβs certainly a journey and then some, isnβt it! I think this forum has been the biggest motivator - Iβd probably have quit by now without it! All the best π
Thank you! I def try to do other stuff too, it really helps - says she whoβs been sat on her butt since this morningβs run π€£. The foam rollerβs eyeing me from the corner of the room β¦
Well done to you Frenc on your second 10-mile run, 15-0, never mind, slow and steady, you completed it, congratulations, I may try to run my second 10 mile run sometime before the end of July or August, I am gradually increasing my distance, this Wednesday I hope to run 14K and the following week 16k/10miles.
Ah thank you so much AlMorr, it was slow and steady, itβs definitely the way to get there in the end. I hope you get to run your 10 miles soon! All the best ππββοΈππ»
Well done, it was a warm muggy day for a run. I went out with my 11yr old on his bike, it was relaxed and fun just how runs should be! Next weekend I am aiming for hm with the boy child on his bike and nice weather π€£ I am in Southampton so not far from you. In fact I need to come to Winchester to run parts of the clarendon way in the next few months π
Thank you Runfasterdoyle - it was pretty muggy wasnβt it! Iβve walked a very small part of the Clarendon Way to go and see my parents, and thought this would be quite nice to run - until I tripped over a bit of flint π and nearly broke my ankle! I keep meaning to get to Sβoton as thereβs a lot more choice for sports shops. Enjoy your run next weekend with your boy! All the best.
Hello Katnap! A bit stiff thanks for asking - I donβt think thereβll be any recovery running today, more like a recovery walk to work and back π.
