Farewell faithful friends

Saying a sad goodbye tonight to my black and gold sauconys. They've carried me over 1,350km+ from couch to 5k to half marathon. I would have loved to try hokas or one of the new range sauconys, but it seemed a little risky in lockdown. My new discounted purple pair fit like slippers. I cant wait to try them out. I hope they're up to the HUMH at the end of the month.

I also bought purple, orange and blue capsto match my running tops with the savings. Everyone will see me coming! I must be crazy!

I really should have replaced them months ago. The permanent closure of my favourite running outlet and then lockdown didn't help.

That's a pretty impressive distance (I've never got much more than 500mi/800km out of a pair) so they have definitely earned an honourable retirement.

You made me laugh! My house is full of old shoes and beloved scruffy clothes which I keep for DIY and gardening.

My wife cruelly points out that I do little of either. 😎

That’s wonderful, you’ve updated your shoes sad for your faithful pair I use mine around the garden now. It just takes a little while for the new ones to feel “run in” took me a while to get the laces set up just right - that maybe me though 🤣🤣happy running in new shoes.
