19k!

So yesterday I got a little bit stubborn and kept running until I hit 19k! I ran it on my own too which always makes me feel I have run it properly lol. I was fine until about 13/14k.... then I started to slow down. I had a blister. Ouch they hurt, and I had to push through that pain barrier but with my fab playlist (purple rain again lol) and the advice of you guys in my ears, I was able to push through and finish in just under 2 and a half hours. Not fast but I did it. 😊 I'm not sure if i want to run the full 21k before my half marathon or wait for the day itself but I need to do some hill training and start seeing 10k runs as my new normal now! I took this photo just after I had finished and lay down at the end! πŸ€£πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ€—

Well done πŸ’ͺ ✊ πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘. That will be far enough now til the big day. No need to do the whole thing. Race day Adrenalin will carry you that bit further πŸ™‚

I think running longer distances solo is easier as you can please yourself with no distractions. You’ll run with plenty of others on the day πŸ‘

Thank you. I think because I started running solo I need to to do the distance on my own to feel I've achieved it lol. 14k today was definitely a much easier run! X

Great run Claire, I’m with misswobble on leaving the full distance til race day, I’m sure it’ll give you a real sense of achievement at the end......that’s what I’m doing anyway! πŸ€—

Should’ve been my 11mile run on Monday but my back was still troubling me. Did a steady progressive 4mls+ last night with the club and feels a lot better now so long run planned for Monday 😊

Take care and happy running πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Yes i think i want that buzz on the day. I needed to reach close to 21 though and I've still not tried combe hill yet! You will do it. Now the heat has cooled again running seems slightly easier. I will watch out for your long run post! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ€—πŸ˜Š

19k is close enough Claire, get some intervals and hill work in, they’ll be a good workouts prior to the race and maybe a 10/12k each week before taking a complete rest the week leading up to the big day πŸ€—........ just a thought 🀯

Well done, almost there! x
