This was my first 8 mile run. It was tough and my right calf cramped up on the way home but I took the pace relatively slowly and avoided the steep inclines (apart from the first 3K) as I didn’t want to sap the energy from my legs. It meant I did a lot of loops on the flat at the Kentish Town end of the run and didn’t make for the most interesting run, but it was all about covering the distance today.
The Nike Running Club App is about .4K ahead of my FitBit and is more generous with the split times, but frankly I’ll take that today. I’ll worry about the distance discrepancy when I’m running 21K. At the moment Coach Bennett and my music is keeping me going and I have to admit to feeling quite proud of myself for digging deep and managing the distance. I am clearly addicted to running and each run, despite the aches and pains I experience is becoming more enjoyable.

Thank you. Despite cramping up a bit and achy legs, I didn’t feel bad at the end. According to my FitBit the last 1K time was 11:53 which seems a tad stingy but may be closer to the truth.
