HM plan week 8 -10 miles done!

Hi everyone, I did a 16K run this morning by the seaside at Bognor Regis๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ– The weather was fairly nice and the wind had died down a bit from yesterday.

I used the โ€˜Ten mile runโ€™ guided run on the NRC app, which worked well and almost synced with Strava ๐Ÿ™‚ I forgot to squeeze the air out of my hydration bladder and the water was sloshing about, so I stopped at about 4K to sort it out. Schoolboy error and lesson learned!๐Ÿ˜Š

I stopped every 1-2 km to take on water, so that part worked well at least!

Just under 5 weeks now till the HUHM half marathon, so I think Iโ€™ll be fine as long as Iโ€™m sensible between now and then๐Ÿคž

Happy running everyone!๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Lovely pic, I miss going to the beach at the moment as would considered it out of my local area! Are you following a specific HM plan?

Thanks shes-evolving, Iโ€™m staying at my mumโ€™s at the moment rather than south London where I live. Iโ€™ll miss the sea when I get back.

I devised my own plan, but itโ€™s based on a plan I found on here a year or so ago. It seems to work for me!๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

Lovely run David, well done! At least you wonโ€™t forget to let the air out next time - sloshing water is so annoying isnโ€™t it? ๐Ÿ™„

I havenโ€™t used my hydration bladder since last summer and I was debating with myself whether to give it a whirl when I do my 10 miler (might be tomorrow) or use my belt/small bottles. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thanks Cheekychipmunks, I enjoyed the run. Iโ€™ll make sure I empty the bladder out properly next time!

This is the first time Iโ€™ve used the bladder since last year. I normally use just small bottles when Iโ€™m running over 10K.

Iโ€™m leaning towards my bottles I think. I havenโ€™t carried any water this time round, but I think 10 miles definitely warrants some! And Jelly Babies. ๐Ÿ˜‹

I have one ordered and on its way and my running friend is always sloshing about! So happy to take this tip for when I use mine๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes turn it upside down and let the air out. I keep mine in the freezer between runs to keep it fresh too.

Great distance David ๐Ÿ‘, it's my favourite long distance and the one that makes me feel I've almost got the HM in the bag.I'm hoping to get there myself in the next week or so ๐Ÿคž

That looks a bit choppy...but then a chilly sea breeze is just the ticket to keep you cool on a run ๐Ÿ˜Š

I hope you did 16.1km David ๐Ÿคฃ

Have you signed up for the Great South Run this year?

Sorry, you did tell me. Good idea to get your hotel booked early. The ones in the city get fully booked.
