Happy Monday everyone! How are you all?
Today was my day off and I had quite the lie in . I've made an effort to change my mindset regarding running. Even though I am working to a schedule, it's one that I've chosen for myself and it's ok to not follow it to a T. Besides, once I take the pressure off, it tends to happen naturally anyway. BUT if it doesn't that's okay too. I went in to today's run with that mindset. 2km in to the run and I just wasn't really feeling it. Not enough to stop but I just didn't forsee my self going for much longer. But somehow I did. I listened to JaackMaates Happy Hour podcast which had me thoroughly entertained. I saw a lot of other runners which definitely helped, and gave me the urge to keep going, I just kept it steady, no rush. I ran alongside the river and with a bit of effort I made it to 14km! Just to really solidify it, I ran another km for my first ever 15km! I'm so so happy. My legs felt like jelly and I walked and stretched thoroughly after before asking my dad to pick me up. A hot shower later and I'm ready to relax the rest of the day ☺️
