Just got back from running 4.8K (3 miles) as part of half marathon training with a friend of mine which was great! I am finding that I really enjoy running with other people and it makes the runs a lot easier. It's harder to find the motivation to run on my own now but once I get into my groove then I'm fine. But running on my own does give me some much needed alone time so that I can think clearly and to just get away from it all, so it's tricky finding a balance at the moment! Other than that, I am really enjoy my training and am looking forward to my 5 mile long run on Friday! :-D

Great start. Seems you enjoy running with company and running alone. Win win! Just remind yourself which benefits you'll be getting when you're trying to force your feet out the door 😍

Thanks! Yes the accountability of running with someone else definitely forces me to get up and get my feet out the door so I shall use that to my advantage with more intention during my training! 😃

Well done! Another training run ticked off. Get used to running alone as it's absolutely fine. Much of running long distances is mental, so if you can go the distance by yourself then it will help further down the line. Not having to wait for anyone else is also logistically so much simpler and less stressful.

Oh yeah I never thought of that before! There are some weeks where I will be doing my long runs on my own because I will be away on holiday! And yes, it is definitely more logistically simpler running on your own! The person I was meant to run with this morning slept through her alarm, leaving me and my other friend waiting for about 15 minutes until we decided just start running! So I do agree that it can be a bit stressful! And I get stressed about those sorts of things not just in my running life either, sometimes it is easier just to get on with things yourself! 😃

Exactly! When it's just you the stress is not there. You can open the door when you like and just run wherever the mood takes you. The freedom is awesome

Yeah, I do enjoy those runs when I am on my own and I feel like I can run forever! 😃

Great stuff. I run alone most of the time but really enjoying running with my daughter or a friend from time to time. Keep us posted about your progress.
