First run of ‘21

My friend Amy organized this run and we were expecting horrible conditions with freezing rain last night, but we got some snow too and the temps warmed up to soften the ice and give us some traction and perfect running temps. We parked at Woodbine beach on Lake Ontario and ran out to the lighthouse at the end of the Leslie Spit. The sunrise was incredible and the snow covered trees looked so surreal. There was a coffee shop in the parking lot, so hot coffee and a pastry waiting for us at the end.

Sounds like a perfect run if you ask me, especially with the coffee shop at the end ! Photos look great.

One of my favourite winter runs by far!

I really love your photos 📷 💕 Decker you deserve this type of run with the scenery and you've certainly earned your miles. A memorable beginning to 2021 my friend 😁

You would have loved it Sask. Crazy Canadian surfers and paddle boarders in the frigid water too! That’s where I draw the line!

How is your recovery going?

Oh pretty well thank you. The black eye has faded, and the scar on my brow is really quite small. Unfortunately I seem to have sprained some muscles in my chest so running is difficult, but it's not serious . Another week off and I should be fine. It's bloomin' chilly here at the moment, I don't mind an extra rest week!

I’m glad the damage was not too serious. Could have been much worse. Hope you heal up well and are able to run again soon!

Wow! Did a road trip around all of Lake Ontario in the summer time many years ago. Great place. Great run!

I don’t think I’ve been all the way around the lake so you are one up on me! It’s a nice place to spend time though

Don't tell anyone else but we spent less than 24hrs on the US side 🤣
