So as school was cancelled and work would be from the sofa, my son and I decided to go for an expedition to the woods....
The snow here is a good foot and I thought that the woods would be fairly snow free due to the canopy..... erm I couldnβt have been more wrong...
Running in deep snow is flipping hard work... so we took the approach of running for about half a mile then walking. Luckily as we know the woods we knew where the tricky roots and rocky parts were. In the snow everything gets smoothed off like icing on a rough cake. It was so special to run on snow that was completely fresh with just the odd animal footprint in it.
We covered 6 miles and by the end we were so hungry and tired so we stopped off at the corner shop and got some chocolate and pizzas for lunch π₯
Have fun and take care.... we had a few little trips on the way but we were fine as we kept it super slow...
Great training for the Artctic Marathon ( I really really want to do this one)... anyone interested??
Happy Panthering
