Just thought I would share a few pics of Saturday’s long run in the changing Fall colours . Was a north route so there was fewer people and it was an early start, and a misty morning both of which suit me fine. Our new dog at home (Otis) is a handful and means I can’t stray too far away, so no destination routes, but it was perfect temps and easily one of the best run weather days of the year. Happy running everyone!

A beauty of a Fall colour run
Stunning foliage Decker. Those colours. 😍 I miss living in New England for that reason.
Otis is a handsome fellow. 🐾 Maybe he’ll be a running buddy for you? 😀
And I am not even very far north here. Cant wait to get out to some further trails but first we have to calm Otis down a bit more. Yes I’ve tested him a few times on short runs through the local park but his squirrel instinct is really strong and he can stop and turn on a dime so I’m giving it a bit more time before venturing out with him. 🙂
Autumn Decker, Autumn!
Wow that's beautiful!you've brightened up my morning with that 😊And Otis looks lovely 🐕🐶xxx
Nice shots, Love autumn colours 👍👍👍
Morning 👋
Yep, autumn has arrived. The autumn leaves are piling up against the door and blowing across the lawn We had frost this morning EEk!
Getting out early doors on an autumnal day sounds and looks lovely. It’s like it’s just yours isn’t it. Seize the day indeed! I bet it was so peaceful
Your dog is a beauty! I hope you can be running buddies! I had a dog just like Otis. An Alsation lab who was everyone’s friend. Kids used to knock at the door to see if she could come out to play 🥰 Great swimmer!
Ooh frost already! We had one night of it and now its warmed up to Summer temps again. Shorts this morning.
I love the smell of the leaves this time of year. I cant wait to go out a bit further north to try some other routes but I’m going into taper now so they will be shorter ones.
This dog has such a personality and we’ve only had him for a couple of weeks so we are still working out his cues. Our kids both love him too. I seriously am working out my arms now just to be able to manage his squirrel launches mid walk or run 🤣
Oooh mist and those colours! Just perfect running conditions 🥰 I can smell the wood smoke from here.
Those are gorgeous photos Decker. I’m keeping an eye on the Arboretum’s colours atm as they are just starting to change but another month and they’ll probably be perfect.
We’re so lucky to be able to see such beauties 🙂
... not a dog lover then IP? 😜😅
I usually miss the full Autumn colours by a week or so but this time I happened to be out at the right time and the temps and wind were just right. The mist was so thick in the morn only around 50’ of visibility, it was very surreal which made it even nicer.
Gorgeous!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Beautiful! And Otis? he looks gorgeous. Hard work though if he's a handful - there's a lot of pull potential there!!! You'll just have to be more stubborn than he is and he'll soon get the hang of what's required. Good luck 😊
Thanks Linda. I have started upper body work just to manage him! If he sees a squirrel he throws everything he has at it! Same goes for our poor cat this morning. Trainer is booked for tomorrow to help manage that relationship🙂
You'll get there. Just hang on to that belief. It can be really tough, but that's usually when things are just about to change for the better 😊
The rescue prepared us for this so we are in it for the long haul and will make sure both of these creatures have their space and their love. Both are rescues and we’ve no idea what they’ve been through, but they are both sweet natured in their own way. The trainer is used to working with northern dogs too. Otis is from the James Bay region around 300km north of Toronto, so he’s also getting used to city life
Fabulous my main man!! Otis looks great. Love this season. Good luck with your taper and running.
Lovely photos Decker - just the best time of year!🍁🍂🍁 Otis sounds like a lively fellow, but I am sure he will settle and won't it be great to run with him? 🐕🏃🏻🙂
Beautiful 😊
Gorgeous pictures! I love the Autumn colours and your new boy Otis is a handsome fellow! Hopefully he'll train well and can be trusted on a longer run with you before long.
Thanks Sask. It’s great to hear from you! I was wondering how you were doing. Yes we were spoilt with gorgeous weather last week and this week is back to normal cool temps and rain. 🙂 Otis is getting a little better each day, but yes the run partner will take some time before we are there. I think he will enjoy it though.
I'm getting by. Running what I can, when I can but unfortunately nothing worth posting about so I've been out of communication for a while. I'm not on the forums as religiously as before but do sneak by every now and then just to see how everyone is doing. I'm slowly but surely finding the joy in running again without any pressure of any goals. There is enough stress and pressure in my everyday life right now, I have to keep my running footloose and fancyfree 🙂
102f here yesterday. Thank God "only" 94f for my run this morning lol
Everything brown and dusty - Oh to be in Ireland and England even when it's not April
Wow is that higher than normal this time of year where you are John?
