A good time to explore a new route!

I’m just in that interim time building distances up to get me to a half marathon again somewhere around Christmas, as I posted earlier. This morning gave me the chance to try out a new route, one I have been itching to have a go at but for various reasons such as not wanting to upset the routes I was doing as I was progressing and a voice in my ear saying is this safe!

Well today when all I was intending to do was run a bit further than 10k, I thought this is the morning to explore. So I turned right instead of left at a certain point and 2.5k later having a great time just running my heart out down the new road and finding out

all was well with it, I then joined a route very familiar to me, and I know know now

how I can extend this route very easily, I always love unlocking the possibilities of a change of route.

All in all a very good 13k before the rain came down 🌧 another 8miles for LEJOG04 too.

Happy running everyone 🏃🏻‍♀️

Sounds like a great run - and a great discovery too! Nothing quite like a new route to distract from the distance to be covered. Enjoy!

Me too! It refreshes us 😃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💥

A recent road closure near me has opened up a whole new area to run in

Love it. 😃👍

Yeahhhhh. I like it a lot. 8 miles in the bag and great experience again on the feet. Keep building the mileage so you know it's in you once again. How did the run feel going 8?

It went really well, quite comfortable really, so I will add to this, next Friday my long run day. 😊👍🏃🏻‍♀️

Woohoo Over62, that was a successful run! You’re brave going “off piste” in the middle of a run! Sounds like it worked for you, and 13k is a great distance. Your HM is calling your name! 😀

I love this post, because I completely get the joy of changing routes and ending up running further by mistake. It keeps the run fresh and intetesting. That sounds like a great run.
